We’ve been running Mini-Cassia’s favorite Thanksgiving tradition for sixteen years. Come and celebrate the sweetness of this holiday community tradition!
To our beloved Turkey Trot community
Welcome to the Mini-Cassia Turkey Trot! We are so excited to announce that we fully anticipate being able to host a live race again this year. We are grateful for all who supported us by participating in our virtual race in 2020. Our community continues to make us proud no matter the circumstances! This year we are celebrating the SWEET 16 anniversary of the Mini-Cassia Turkey Trot. This event has grown far beyond what we ever imagined it would when we first had the idea to start it in 2005. How sweet it is to see our racers, our sponsors and our volunteers show up year after year with such consistency and enthusiasm. We missed being together with you all in person last year and we can’t wait to reunite at our 2021 race. See you soon!
This message is to officially announce that the 2020 Mini-Cassia Turkey Trot will proceed as a virtual race for ALL participants.
Idaho Governor Brad Little has returned Idaho to Stage 2 Order status. This status prohibits public or private gatherings of more than 10 people. We have known throughout our planning this year that there was a chance that this might happen at any time and we have been planning a virtual race as our backup plan. If you have been a supporter of the Turkey Trot in years past, but you haven’t registered for the 2020 race yet, we urge you to continue supporting our race. We believe that a virtual race will still fulfill the mission of the Mini-Cassia Turkey Trot to promote greater unity in our community, raise funds to benefit local programs, and promote health and fitness. As in years past, race proceeds will be donated to West End Fire and Rescue and the Burley and Rupert Senior Centers.
The advantage of a virtual race is that you can run, walk, waddle or trot a 5K distance on any day, at any time, and in any city and enter your results online between November 20 and November 29 to be a part of the virtual leaderboard. We invite you to upload photos, videos and stories about your virtual experience. Race packets with shirts and swag will still be distributed in the days prior to the race at West End Fire and Rescue via drive-through format. Door prizes typically distributed at the race will be determined by lottery and handed out with race packets. Register today and keep the tradition alive!
